The Upper Lake Creek Special Recreation Management Area encompasses over 15,000 acres of public land at the headwaters of Lake Creek north of state highway 36 near Horton. To the north this area adjoins the Alsea area managed by the Salem District.Acquired through an exchange with Willamette Industries in 1995, Hult Reservoir is the centerpiece of this rugged and picturesque recreation area.
