If ever needed, the threads can beseparated for different uses suck as fishing line, wrapping arrows, etc. The lanyard can be black or camo, and can vary from 8" to 22" long, which gives the owner enough lengthto use it for wrapping weapons or tools such as a knife onto a stick for ajabbing or throwing spear. The flint rod is a man-made rod which hasbecome famous for it's ability to throw up to 5,000 degree sparks! It works VERY WELLto start a fire with just one scrape down the rod toward the fire startingtinder, because MAGNESIUM is mixed into the metal.
