Description:
Hi and Welcome to our Listing. You will be bidding on a brand new quality survival knife. You never know when your life may depend on a knife like this; So let’s get Started!I’ll give you all the features of this knife in a second, first let me tell what I think about the knife itself. You may or MAY NOT have warning when disaster strikes. If you needed to evacuate or survive without electricity and water (you knew that tap water gets to your house by electric pumps right?) I mean RIGHT NOW! RIGHT THIS VERY INSTANT! Would you be prepared? That’s how these things happen. No warning, just pow! No time to plan. No time to prepare. Just react. I hope you never need this knife for survival. I truly do. I hope you just use it around the house and at the campsite. And realize that your money was well spent and invested.Every once in awhile we run across an item that we like so much, that we just have to have one for ourselves. This knife is one of those items! I personally own 3 of these knives and my son also owns one. I keep one in the RV, one in the garage and one in our home emergency kit.Honestly, when I first held one of these knives I was impressed by the size and feel it had. It is massive in feel yet light in weight, only a little over a pound. But I asked myself “Why would I need a knife like this?” I don’t backpack anymore, the odds of being caught alone behind enemy lines was pretty slim, I don’t venture out of my cell phone service area very often and room service always sends a steak knife.(There was that one time at the Sheraton when I could have used that knife to free the frozen ice that was jamming the ice machine.)The more I held it the more I realized the potential uses a tool like this has and I came to the conclusion that at this price, I can afford to have one, or three, and not ever need it. I also knew that I couldn’t ever afford to need one and not have it!This knife has earned it’s keep a hundred times over around the camp site. I’ve used it to dig, hammer, scrape, clean fish and game, as a stake to tie off tarps and shelters, cut brush and saw limbs, whittle fuzzy sticks to start a fire, to pry and wedge things and I’ve even used the blade to cut once in awhile. It’s also earned a place in our emergency road kit I keep in the garage for our car trips. We have been on many a remote road during snow season and although we have never been stranded due a sliding off the road or a breakdown, the possibility of being stuck on an isolated road has been a realistic probability. But as I used this knife in the field I realized it to be as equally valuable in the urban setting. I keep one in our Home emergency/survival kit. You know we had one of these when I was a kid during the Cuban Missile crisis but, for most of my adult life it hasn’t been necessary.I’m not Rambo and I probably won’t ever be stranded in the wilderness, But friend, you and I both know that the rules of engagement have changed and the circumstances under which I may need this knife are different than they were years ago. With what I’ve seen happen on 9-11 and with the urban survival required by the victims of hurricane Katrina, not to mention the possibility of an extended power outage due to a crash of our aged electrical grid as well as the increased potential for terror attacks, civil unrest and crime that accompanies riots, I’d be foolish to think that I would never need this knife just to get by around the house. If things go bad, as they sometimes will, I know that my family will look to me to take control and provide the direction they need in a crisis. Having a knife like this in my bag of tricks gives me peace of mind knowing I have the tools I need not just to survive, but to do so comfortably. The shear size of this knife may be larger than some may like, however those with limited skill will find they have a wider range of ability with it. This knife Is brand new and comes with nylon sheath designed to be worn on the belt or strapped to a pack. The knife blade is made of stainless steel and is a full 8 inches long.( The overall length of the knife is just over 14 inches.) The point of the blade is formed by the convergence of 7 angled surfaces from both sides of the tip, the edge and the spine surfaces making the point very narrow and increasing progressively for strength and ease of penetration. The point (The first ¼ length of the blade) widens for strength against breakage or bending and the continuation of surface angles help prevent blade deflection. The edge or working part of the knife maintains a beveled surface and narrowness for expedient cutting and working of the material. The blade widens as it progresses upward from the edge towards the spine to provide increased weight and strength that is required by the heavier cutting jobs performed closer to the heel of the knife. The blade is a full ¼ inch wide at the spine and features 22 staggered offset cutting teeth set at opposing 45 degree angles to one another. This V shaped pattern of teeth places a 5/16 inch space between teeth on the same side. Each tooth is 1/8 of an inch wide. This design makes a cinch out of cutting through bone or wood materials and means that unlike most knives of the old serrated style, one tooth is always in contact with the surface thus avoiding the binding or locking that you encounter with other imitation knife blades. This rip style blade design lets this knife cut like a saw. This is a feature that you won’t find on any other knife and is truly what sets this knife apart. These teeth are sharp and effective, They rip bone and wood with ease. The blade fits into a strengthening sleeve as it attaches to the lightweight aluminum handle. The grip part of the handle from the finger guard to the butt cap is a full 4 ¾ inches long and is 1 ¼ inches in diameter (4 inches in circumference.) That’s enough for even the largest of hands. The sure grip handle has fives bands of diamond patterned knurled grips. Each band is 5/8 inches wide for absolute knife control even when wet. The front finger guards are predrilled on each side to permit tying off of line or lashing the knife to a stick to create a spearing tool. The sure grip handle is hollow and sealed by a threaded butt cap with waterproof o-ring. The storage handle butt cap houses a magnetic low friction compass that is moderately accurate. (But then this is survival and not rocket science) By placing the compass inside the housing, the butt cap can effectively be used a hammer. Cheap imitation knives have the compass on the outside of the cap.The internal storage compartment in the hollowed handle comes from the factory with the following; a sewing kit, buttons, safety pin, matches with striking paper, fish line with hooks.( I suggest you give this some thought and change it as you see fit. I always keep my matches on my person in the event the knife gets lost.(Murphy’s law will see that it does) The sewing kit and fish hooks are the least of my concerns. I replaced my contents with some spider wire, band aids and a rescue whistle.)I also strapped a first aid kit to the sheath.Don’t be fooled by the fact that this knife is made offshore. It is how they manage to produce a knife that can perform reliably, in the most extreme conditions, yet still be affordably priced. I’ve seen similar knives priced well into the 200 dollar range. I decided to pick this knife, at it’s affordable price, and invest that savings into other lifesaving, survival, security devices.Common sense; This knife is sold only for it’s intended use and for legitimate sporting purposes only.
